Star necklace: $8,000 diamond necklace for $9,000 star
This diamond necklace is one of a kind and has a star in the shape of a diamond on one side.
It was made by a jeweler in South Australia.
The owner of the business is the mother of one of the stars, who made the necklace for her son.
Ms Leanne said the necklace had been made by the family of the star who has autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Ms Leane said the diamond was an unusual item for the family, but was something she could not have imagined a year ago.
Ms Sainte-Marie said the family would not sell it, but had offered to pay for a replacement, and she was happy to help.
“I feel very blessed that we have had a chance to offer this necklace for free, but I am not the owner of it, I am the mother and I do not own it,” she said.
Ms Kelleher said she had never heard of a star necklace being made in South Africa before, but would be happy to sell one to her son, who had autism.
“He was like a child and we had to take him out of school because he was a bit of a bitching kid and he was just always yelling and screaming and he kept getting into trouble, and it got to the point where we decided to just go for it and give it away,” she told the ABC.
Ms Naidoo said she was not sure what the star meant by “being a bit boy”.
“He had a bit much energy, I mean it is not uncommon for autistic kids, they are quite a bit more energetic than normal kids, but it is a bit odd,” she explained.
Ms Trews said the business owners daughter, who works in the business, had also asked for a star for her.
“She said, ‘Mom, you know, I just love you and I can’t imagine anybody else loving me more’,” she said of the child.
“So I think this is a really good opportunity for us to sell a piece of jewelry that we think is something special.”
She said she and her husband were “proud” to have made the diamond, which she believed was a good choice.
“It is an honour and a privilege to be able to make a diamond necklace with a diamond star on it,” Ms Tledwe said.
“You just have to ask yourself what would happen if you had a child that had autism.”
