Girl’s diamond necklace gives a little extra life to daughter
A diamond necklace with a diamond embedded in it has helped to provide a little more life to a little girl who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy.
The girl, who was not named, was born with epilepsy, and had undergone surgery last year to remove a section of her brain that normally controls her speech.
The operation, which was performed by the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Center for Developmental Neurology, was so successful that the brain has now been completely reconnected with the rest of her body, according to ABC News.
The surgery was so good that the girl’s parents were able to celebrate their daughter’s birthday on her 27th birthday, and now, after the surgery, she has the joy of having her hair back.
The parents of the girl told ABC News that the jewel necklace was a gift to her as a way of showing her support.
“I think we should give her a little bit of love, so she can have a better life,” the girl said.
“I think that the diamond is a nice reminder of the things that we are doing to help her.”
